When this happens? After the login or at any time, in the middle of your work?
Can you manually update avast? You'll get the missing updates doing so  8)

Can you be more specific about the something or other that is invalid, that will help us to help you ?

Have you tried a repair of avast ?
Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.

Welcome to the forums, quisquis.    :)

If you could post a screen shot of the red warning box, it would be helpful. If you do not know how to post a screen shot, information on doing that can be found here:

It turned out that all it wanted was for me to re-register. I suppose it's easier for someone to give out a vague and meaningless error report than to say Please re-register.

If your error was saying your registration key was invalid, it wouldn't be meaningless, not to mention if you had given us more information than "the annoying blue box has turned red for the past few days and told me something or other is invalid." perhaps we could have been able to identify the problem. Or you could have answered the questions we asked 4 days ago we could have helped more.

No matter now that you have resolved the problem, welcome to the forums.

I agree with David... you did not give us enough information to help you...

:-)
I think it's a bit more memorable and meaningful to say 'Please re-register' than to say the registration is invalid and give no reason.  Still, as you say, all is now well until next time when I shall have forgotten about this and shall flounder around all over again
:-)

I somehow seem to recall getting a notice prior to the date that my auto renewal privileges ran out.  ???
Am I right or is that wishful thinking?

I really don't remember if I got a notice or not. But, the funny thing is that I can remember the month it's due!  :o    Go figure that!    ::)

Anyway, I just renew it when the 1st of that month comes up. Wait, this year it is on Nov 1st so I have to do it in Oct.   :)
