Vista 64?

64 bit install detetection not work for Vista?

Task manager reports all the Avast modules are 32 bit.

What version of Vista are you using ?
Any other Antivirus ?
Any Error message ?

All important parts (system drivers) of avast! are native 64-bit, other parts (tray icon, user interface) are 32-bit, because there is no performance improvement over 64-bit versions.

ashDisp.exe is 32 bit
ashMaiSv.exe is 32 bit
ashServ.exe is 32 bit
AshWebSv.exe is 32 bit
AshUpdSv.exe is 32 bit


I can't find any Avast process that is running the 64 bit version.

No other AV software... until I find one that really runs in 64 bit mode.

The drivers are 64 bit (otherwise, the resident protection wouldn't work at all on a 64bit OS). You can't see the drivers in Task Manager, however - they are not processes.

Yes, avast! processes are 32 bit - there's no reason it should bother you; there's no problem about it.
