Who uses Vappware - the browser condom?
« on: March 31, 2007, 01:44:35 PM »
Hi malware fighters,

How smart to call a browser sandbox "a browser condom" - nobody wants to get a virtual browser ailment anyway!?
This Argentinian software is still in alpha: http://www.vappware.com/vapp/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=47

Will they make it where eCondom and GreenBorder have gone before, and both thought they'd invented the virtual egg of Columbus.

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

A new slant on safe hex then ;D

I think they are trying to reinvent Columbus's the egg. There are many full, sand boxes out there not to mention the browser is only one possible rout of entry/infection. When you start looking at cover for email, IM and P2P clients you are then pretty much at the full sand box solution.

Still too early for my blood testing with an Alpha product on a production system is unwise, I soldier on with DropMyRights, Firefox, NoScript, DrWeb, etc. my virtual condom ;D

It's amazing how many different brands of condoms there are for
all the different parts of the operating system.
Unfortunately even with all this protection, there are still many
who's system has become pregnant with an infection.
