VRDB Updating
« on: June 27, 2007, 03:33:22 AM »
I'm new to this forum.  I been using avast for about a year now, on Windows XP.  I now use it on Vista and I noticed that the "VRDB" does not update by itself (Like it did in XP).  I have to go in manually and run it.  Is there a fix or am I doing something wrong.  Thanks in advance!!

I didn't notice that... I'll check next time I'll boot on Vista.
Which is your VRDB schedule: with screen saver or when idle? If the first option, which is your screen saver?

VRDB is set for Screen Saver.  The Screen Saver is "Windows Logo".  Energy is set to turn off display after: "45 min". and Put computer to sleep is set to: "NEVER".

I changed the generating from "screen saver" to "when computer is idle" and it worked.  My friend did the same on his Vista computer and the VRDB started immediately.  For some reason Avast does not recognize the screen saver working.
