Avast loses program icons

i have Win ME running on my cpu and i experience the same problem this guy did.

Avast! v.4.7 Home Edition loses program & folder icons in Explorer
details view & in file open requestors-- the little ones to the left of
their names! They are GONE from Explorer's left pane too, & all icons in
Control Panel become the same-- the flying Windows icon! (Desktop icons
are fine, though.) Neither a log off/on nor even an end-task of Explorer
gets them back! Because TIFs may be involved, I emptied them & offline
content-- but even that did not get them back!

All seems to work, though, anyhow, & a reboot DOES get them back.
Wasn't there a thread here about something like this? It happens this
way...

(a) R-Clk Avast! in the tray, & select "Start avast! Antivirus".
(b) Close the little help window after the memory scan.
(c) Click the "Folder Selection" button, & cancel it's requestor.
(d) Close Avast!.

The icons are now GONE! Here is what InCtl5 detects has been changed,
but I'm not sure what to make of it...

what do avast plan to address or fix the problem? i understand that this only started at avast 4.7.

If you use the special tools of TweakUI to rebuild your icons, what do you get?
I'm not sure you have it for Windows Me.
