Sources of samples that have priority.
« on: August 12, 2007, 04:58:56 PM »
Hi

Which will be the sources of samples that they have priority for the team of analysts of avast ?

I sent samples (117 samples) for virus@avast.com has 5 weeks and avast continues not detecting them.

Thanks

Chest > email > FTP server.
But the priority will be given to ITW viruses than other ones.

It's a shame that detection is that low...

Avast's reaction time is getting better but still needs improvement  ;)
I'm sure Avast will improve on this issue  :)

Resend the files again. Maybe they skip the first time.

I don't understand the logic in that, 'and wait another 6 weeks' if you don't resubmit them you might wait even longer. If the original submission didn't get through or prioritised.

I go to try for another way:

MIRT ( Malware Incident Reporting and Termination )

                  http://www.castlecops.com/mirt

Perhaps it has priority in relation to the VirusTotal and the Jotti.

I go to test and to wait...

Finally

Today after the update of avast (VPS 767-1) 61 of the 117 malwares sent (remain 56) has 48 days is detected.

We go to wait...

I am testing the MIRT.

Resend them. Using third party website will not make Avast detect them. If you resend them you will have more possibility that Awil catch them.
