Avast Brasil
« on: December 22, 2023, 03:52:54 AM »
Goodnight,

I wanted to know if AVAST is based here in BRAZIL?

Since Brazil is a country that suffers a lot from virtual attacks around the world, mainly attacks to steal bank account passwords.

I know that the more the Antivirus is based in the country you are in, the safer it is, because it is aware of the local Viruses and Malware in the place you are living.

With all this, I wanted to know if AVAST is based here in BRAZIL?

Based on what was said, can I use Avast antivirus safely and will it be protected against malware made here in BRAZIL?

According to KASPERSKY, it informs that it is important to have a headquarters in BRAZIL to capture BRAZILIAN malware that other antiviruses cannot capture or detect in Avast products because there are no malware researchers in the country.

What do you say on this matter, shouldn't Avast have it?

They aren't based in Brazil as such (Prague is still the main HQ of Avast) , that doesn't need to be the case, as Avast is also a Part of Gen Digital.  I don't know what their representation might be in Brazil.

I needed to know if Avast would have a large share here in BRAZIL so I could subscribe to the premium version of Avast, since I want to switch from Kaspersky to Avast. What do you advise me?

What advantages does Avast have over Kaspersky for me to make this change? If you can, I said it now, I will sign it now.
Thanks.

You don't really have to have  large presence in a specific country in the Internet Age.

I have never used Kaspersky I have only used Avast free for 20 years and no infections.  So I can't

Well it is younger than the post that you originally posted in.

I have just given you some clues, it is up to you to go further if necessary.  Regardless of age, Avast in and of itself doesn't need to be physically located in Brazil, they may well have resellers as they do in many other parts of the world.

I found your comments and icons somewhat ungracious.
I don't work for Avast so I will now bow out.
