Adding Age To Profile

So... is anyone else having an issue with this? I just get a setup of 0001 01 01 and when I type in my birth date it never saves and always reverts back to 0001 01 01. I know this is super trivial, but this seemed like the right place to ask such a question. Am I doing something wrong?

Why would anyone want/need to give their age, it isn't a mandatory field, there isn't an age limit on the forums. 

As it says on this page " If you aren't comfortable with sharing some information, simply skip it - nothing here is required."

The forum software is by - SMF 2.0.18 | SMF © 2015, Simple Machines - so I don't even know if forum Administrators can investigate that issue.
