Need Help Understanding and Resolving "URL " Threat Alert
« on: May 25, 2024, 10:47:13 PM »
Hello,

I recently received a threat alert from Avast, and I'm not sure what it means or how to resolve it. Here's the message I got:

Threat Resolved

We have safely aborted connection on dns://sportjump.ru because it was infected with URL
.

We can also protect you from other types of threats.

Update Your Protection

Name of the threat: URL

URL: dns://sportjump.ru
Process: C:\windows\system32\svchost.exe
Detected by: Web Shield
Status: DNS aborted

I'm not familiar with what a "URL
" is or how it affects my system. Could someone explain what this threat means and what steps I should take to ensure my computer is safe?

Thank you!

It means that avast has blocked access to URL (website adress) that was on avast blacklist for whatever reason
