Bing hijacking Goggle search

When I try to for a Google search it is hijacked by Bing which also seems to change the target page format and advertives some ms app.

Tried to reinstall Avast Browser, no change.

Windows 11

Hi Bob,
you can change the search provider in the settings.
I discussed this issue with the development team who confirmed that the browser should respect this change and not overwrite your choice.
So, if you manually change the search provider to Google it should stay Google.

Please, report it here if it will be changed again.

Thanks. I can't find how to get to setting the search provider. I can see it in other browsers but not in Avast.

You can open it from the three dots menu or open https://secure/search it will open the Search setting page
There will be a drop-down where you can select Google.
