Hello,
I try to move the resident scanner sensitivity by moving the slider to standard or high level and whenever I change it comes back to disabled. I tried from all of three levels: Simple User Interface, Enhanced User Interface and System tray icon, but always the same.
OS: win98
Avast: Build: Sep2007 (4.7.1043)
AMD Athlon XP 1600+

avast is now at 4.8.1201.

I have to doubt than much effort will be expended on the older version.  Please check again with the current release of avast and let us know if the same problem persists.
