Comodo Bloat Ware
« on: November 24, 2008, 04:01:07 AM »
I just went to install Comodo on a virtual pc and see that they have turned into major bloatware. I tried installing the firewall only and as soon as it starts up it begins scanning for viruses. Time to look for another free firewall. Sad that so many companies do the all in one internet security thing.

Another convert I see.

Contrary to what seems to be common advice I do not run a software based firewall as I prefer to keep my browsing speedy and my system free from malware to begin with by the use of MBAM, SpywareBlaster, Windows Defender and WinPatrol.

Sorry but Comodo is anythin but bloatware :)

U obviously didnt check the options durin install, did U bother to uncheck the AV part when it offers? Did U uncheck check comp for malware?

Saddens me when folk start spreadin FUD about a good piece of software that it free.

There are room for improvements in a lot of free firewalls and avast nowadays...
Comodo has, from time to time, issues with Windows Updates.
OA is having trouble with avast at boot.
ZA is always ZA... poor support.
PCTools seems to be working with avast.

Well, even though Comodo Firewall scans the files for the first time, it doesn't do that ever again unless you force it to do so.
