What is your firewall ?
Does it allow avast.setup internet access ?
- If it does delete the entry for it and do a manual update (right click on the avast 'a' icon, Updating, iAVS Update), this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

What avast processes are running in Task Manager, they begin with ash or asw, see image ?
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.5.6116 (build 24.5.9153.762) UI 1.0.808/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

The windows firewall shouldn't block outbound connections as it doesn't check them.

Have (or did) you another AV installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?

This is sometimes associated with this problem.

Please, post the last 300-350 lines of avast log: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\Setup.log

The problem occurs after an Avast program update. OA firewall will block outbound connection because it no longer recognizes Avast. You, or your son, need to set Online Armour firewall to allow the "new" Avast connection.
If you keep Online Armour installed, turn the Windows Firewall off.

Windows 10,Windows Firewall,Firefox w/Adblock.

It could be greater than the file size forum limit.
So, open in Notepad and post the last (from bottom to top) the last lines.

I do not use OA, so I don't know for certain. Your son installed it, get him to find the rule. Somewhere in the settings there will be an option to have a prompt when a program attempts a connection to the internet.
I believe this is likely to be a firewall issue.
But you should also find the setup log, and post the last lines (~100) from the bottom of that log, as Tech has asked.

Correction to my last: Post the last 300-350 lines of the log.

Another thing to check, is your computer date and time correct?

Dear you were, sorry if I disturbed but with the PC are not good.

I resolved, OA blocked an entry dated July, and the problem 'came out in November ... I was released and 'updated avast and' disappearance of the red shield Security Center window.
Thanks to all

You're welcome.

There has recently been an update for Online Armor to 4.0.10 I think to correct some bugs.
