Best ways to protect yourself from hackers?

Since i never saw a topic like this, lets start discussing on how we should prevent from being fooled by them and all software we should stick with, im sure Hijack is very useful even if we dont have much knowledge, like those crap bars on IE7 (we can not have it, but a registry could be there) we dont need have knowledge to know they should be removed.

- Don't let your kids or friends use your computer, unless they have a login of their own with limited privileges.
