Backdoor.Rbot.gen
« on: May 29, 2004, 12:37:18 AM »
Hello,
By chance I've found a virus on my computer in a file c:\windows\system32\wkssvr.exe

It seems to be all over my registry but the file doesn't actually exist when I try to find it in explorer or via a dos window.

the virus was Backdoor.Rbot.gen but avast didn't find it. I got it via kapersky labs upload service.

Anyone know how to fix it?

thanks.

Neil

Hi,

if updated avast doesn't detect the file, please send it in to
virus@avast.com

best in a password-protected zip-file; include problem description & zip-password in the mailtext..

Hello,
The problem is this file is not visible via windows explorer or a dos prompt and kasperky cannot even delete it either, I'm f^cked basically!

Any ideas how to remove the file or make it visible?

According to google it is a WORM_SDBOT.MC virus and the only reference anywhere is TREND virus sofware.

Update:
Sorry, but I ran the TREND online service and it found it as a malware type virus and removed it so I cannot upload it.

Either way though, this is a horrible virus that should be somehow put into avast.

I'm not too clear on what you want to say..

anyway.. it can only be integrated in avast's virus database, if alwil/avast team somehow gets the file.. ;)

Please post a logfile of hijackthis, if problems remain:
