First off, I apolize if this has been posted before but I couldn't find what I was looking for searching in old posts. I am NOT a computer-knowledgeable person by any means. Whenever my Avast detects a virus, trojan horse, spyware, etc. it ALWAYS suggests I move them to chest. I understand that this is some sort of a quarantine, but can't figure out what to do next. Here are my questions. Please answer as non-technical as possible
Why are there other options even available?
What should I do with them once they are in the chest?
If the quarantined files are just renamed copies of the original files then how to I get the originals deleted?
If I should delete them from the chest, then why couldn't I just do that as soon as it is detected since it is one of the options?
If everything ever deleted from your computer is still actually in there somewhere, then isn't the virus still in your computer?
What about the repair option? What is it for?
