Microsoft WUAUCLT.EXE update process question!
« on: August 25, 2010, 10:24:43 PM »
Lately, on an XP SP3 desktop, at boot this is jumping to some 500k of RAM usage, thus running my 1G of RAM to 90% with all the other processes running.  Avast 5 (free) and Windows Defender are the other security apps that run real time.  Has anyone else noticed this lately?  Any chance Avast is involved?  Thank You!

You can test with http://soluto.com what is being loaded and the time they take of the boot.

I find that Windows Defender is not needed on XP.

I am interested what you find out with Soluto as it trashed my XP Pro system.

For me it works like a charm...
In the screenshot you can see a problem with avast drivers once...

That's on Windows 7 and I am interested about running on XP as Soluto has a problem on my XP Pro system!
