It is free, but you must register. Just name and e-mail address, and after one year you do it again

There are two methods of registering avast! Free Antivirus 5.0 license key:

It is free but you still have to register, you don't have to pay.

Presumably you have installed avast 5.0.462 ?
If so then use the avastUI, Maintenance, Registration, section, use the Register now button, complete the form and avast will register the free version and you are good for another year. You do not have to buy a license.

Sure, you just renew the registration.

You're welcome.

When you get close to the renewal date (14 days I think) then you will get a reminder to renew just follow the same steps to renew.

Sorry to revive this treadh guys. But i downloaded three days ago the free avast Anti-Virus and even after registering myself in the site, they just wont send me the free license key.

Even when registering online with the Avast interface, it doesn't ask my personal information, it just stops the process of gathering information and nothing happens.  ::)

Does anybody have a clue about what's happening?

You shouldn't have received an email if you registered through the avastUI using the Register Now button in my image above (click to expand) ?

If you used the Register Now button then it should have changed the registration information in avast.

If you didn't do that try it as there really is no need to use the Off-line Registration method to get an email sent if your system can go on-line.

However, if you did use the off-line registration method, the most common cause of non-receipt of an email is ISP/User or email server anti-spam application.
