side by side configuration problem when installing avast

HI
I wondered whether anyone can help. I am having problems installing avast on my computer. It is vista windows home premium. I have checked the other posts and tried to download both service pack 2 for vista windows and the readiness tools without any luck. Hope you can help.

Side-By-Side Configuration is Incorrect Error - You need to install MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable.

You need 2008 SP1 - this is the one:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update
