I just updated two laptop computers to Avast version 4.5.523, and now have a problem with one of them - I can't connect to my e-mail client, which is Thunderbird. When I try to get my messages, I get an alert which states: could not connect to server 127.0.0.1, the connection was refused. When I try to send a message, I get a similar message relating to the outgoing SMTP server. I didn't change any settings, and can't find the problem. Any help appreciated. I use WIN XP, Home ED as my OS.
I also can't open the Mail Protection Wizard, which is listed in the Avast Help list. When I follow the instructions, the Wizard isn't shown. Any suggestions here?..Thanks for any help....Jim
