Local updates
« on: December 04, 2004, 02:57:28 PM »
Hello,

I have a couple of computers connected in a network, but only 1 of them is connected to the internet with a 56k modem. They are all running avast! home 4.5

Is it possible to let avast! running on the other computers update their data or program files from the computer with the modem?

The avast! on the computer with the modem is set to automatic updates.

Not 'from' unless you have the network edition of Avast, but through is possible. Just make sure the other systems have access to the net.

Budgie, welcome.
I think you're doing the best here: the avast! on the computer (1) with the modem is set to automatic updates and about the other computer (2), I think the best will be download the vpsupd.exe file (http://www.avast.com/eng/update_avast_4_vps.html) with the (1) computer, burn a CD and update the (2).
