What is the AvastUl.exe application.  How do I fix this application error?

avastUI.exe is the User Interface of avast! (the application window and all its features...).
But, are you in the correct forum? What is this related to Anti-Theft?

What is the AvastUl.exe application.  How do I fix this application error?

Every time I start up my computer I get the message AvastUl.exe - Application Error. It states the instruction at 0x76dc114d referenced memory at 0x00000014. The memory could not be written. Click on OK to terminate the program. What is this all about and how do I fix it?
