Script shield has not worked for some time.
Yesterday i downloaded some music from Amazon and it started to work and is still working today.
I really don't understand this.No matter what i did before i would not work.
So in future if it stops,i download some music as before and hope that kicks it into live.We shall see

it is just by luck that script shield is working now...developer builds are not supported (eg. firefox 12 beta)

to ensure optimal protection, please stick to current releases  :)

Developer builds are obviously supported.
I have also tried current releases and they don't necessarily work.
Who cares if is or isn't luck.It works.

Firefox 12 comes out of beta next Week. It's going to be interesting to see if script shield works or not.
The problem is with Avast  not Firefox.

agreed that when firefox 12 comes out of beta and when script shield does not work then, it is Avast who will have to solve the compatibility problem.

The compatibility problem is with Windows 7.
It works perfectly and has always done so on my XP computer and it doesn't matter weather Firefox is in beta or not.

I now have Firefox 12 Final.
Script shield still running.
I suppose the next thing is an update of Avast

Firefox 12 will be officially released on April 24th. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases

I do see that Firefox 12 is posted on their FTP site.  I don't recall that a release version has ever differed from the one that was originally posted there beforehand, but the possibility does exist.

Correction:  Initial Firefox 11 was pulled from FTP, and the updated version was then released.  I was away when it was released, and wasn't affected.

Remove from internal mirrors

Respin declared for the graphics blocklist crashes not actually being fixed in 11.0b7/11.0 build1 code.

Deleted firefox/releases/11.0 from the mirrors, and filed bug 734692 to speed up clean up of pv-mirror01/02 (the "internal mirrors").

I'm finding that avast av pro 7 0 1426 script is not working with FF12.....I've uninstalled Avast and reinstalled...still no script checking on Avast...Uninstall FF12 and reinstall FF11...I then have script shield working....so do I stick to FF11 or will Avast fix the problem it has with FF12?

I'm staying with Firefox 12 because of the vulnerabilities that it fixed.  See https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html.  A new Avast beta is to be released in the next week or so, so the Script Shield problem should be fixed during the beta testing cycle that ensues.

You can also use Firefox ESR, which is currently at version 10.04.  It has all the Mozilla security updates and I just tested the portable edition and script shield works like it should.  However, I rather use the mainstream Firefox release so I hope that the Avast beta isn't too long.
