Avast IS7 is edging closer to my recycle bin
« on: July 06, 2012, 04:16:59 PM »
Having contacted Avast support to try and resolve my issue with Roboform crashing in the Sandbox, I reinstalled Avast as they said and this did nothing.

I thought it was resolved in the latest program release but that must have been just pure coincidence that Roboform worked for a very short while but soon after started playing up again.

Roboform works fine with Internet Explorer outside the Sandbox but within the Sandbox IE is fine but Roboform crashes. This can only lead to one conclusion in my mind and that is a Sandbox issue. Avast Support have not been very proactive is assisting with the issue, if just to eliminate themselves from the cause of the error, but no real help has been offered.

The only reason I purchased the suite was to have the Sandbox flexibility which isnt available in the free edition (other than auto sandboxing)

I am now hoping that there is someone on the forum who is aquainted better than I am with Avast and problem issues such as this who may be able to help

Many Thanks

Andy

Essexboy, I would have sent a log file or dumpfile as you say but I did not know where to browse to obtain this info

I have received a reply from PK on this and he has asked for additional data which I will provide...  I will keep you updated on the progress  ;D

The dump files are difficult to extract from the sandbox - which is part of its function..  But where there is a will there is a way

Roboform also crashes in Google Chrome when sandboxed too.

Would Sandboxie be a more stable alternative ?
