Windows\Installer malware-gen
« on: August 20, 2012, 04:15:21 AM »
This nasty little creature will redirect webpages and run in the background on iexplore.exe, avast stopped popping up every couple minutes saying it was doing something after cleaning up.

but still iexplore.exe process shows up two-four times no matter what, before doing a fair amount of cleanup of this it was worse, but there's still at least something wrong that's causing the iexplore.exe to happen. I did what I could to get rid of it's trail in Windows\Installer folder, which seemed to tidy the re-directs, but the iexplore.exe processes continue to crop up

It doesn't seem to be a big deal, but I'd like to end it anyways.

Big time thanks, that seems to have done the bulk of it.

Only problems I can see now are on startup I get two error messages RunDLL's

There was a problem starting C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\asarse.dll "The specified module could not be found." and same for \AppData\Roaming buavri.dll

Also, the last OTL log disappeared

It's behaving well now, other than those RunDLL errors at start-up. Thanks!
