Well you guys need to add a patch, apparently a pretty big bug I just found after upgrading last night that I found out this morning that when I disabled the File Sheild via User Mode, it seems that it was not "Completely" shut off,

Because in the over view status of the sheilds, activity was still being recorded while the sheild was disabled which is something that is not suppose to do, I had to completely shut off the ENTIRE Service in order to stop it from running,

This would be advised that a patch is needed to correct this because it is not normal if sheild is disabled but still scanning, then that would pose an issue on system resources,

Using Avast 5 at software version 7.0.1466.549, using Windows 2000 SP4 Rollout 1.

Hello JeffChao284!

I cannot confirm your complaint.
After I disabled the "File System Shield" (for 10 minutes, as an example), the shield counter in the overview jumps to "0/0" (no activity is recorded) and remains on these values until I start the shield again.
By the way: I installed avast V7.0.1466 on Windows 2000 from scratch.
Did you install your version via GUI update?
