PIN recovery gives a wrong PIN

Hi!

I already read many threads about forgotted pin but I think mine is different.
I installed avast on my android device (Samsung Galaxy S2 with ICS 4.0.3). On the first time I ran it it asked me about anti-theft installation. I proceed to install then config. I configured a PIN number (I know it, I didn't forget it!). After to finish anti-theft install, Avast now shows PIN screen. I already tried my pin, many standard combinations like all zeroes, 123456, etc... None of them worked for me.
Now the odd part: if I use the recovery option, I receive in the another configured device the temporary PIN. But it is: "O reme". Shouldn't it to be all numeric digits?
What could be wrong?
Please help me. I gave admin rights to anti-theft, my device is not rooted and I don't want to make a hard reset!

that's really weird, it should definitely be digits. Is this the whole message you get?

PS: I think the whole message should be "O remetente deste SMS pediu-nos que lhe enviássemos um novo PIN do avast!. O novo PIN é "PIN" e é válido para os próximos 30 minutos."

Yes, that's all.
I think you are right about the SMS text...
I think that I will have no choice, right?  :-[
If I have root access to device, would I be able to remove anti theft?

Hi,

nah, the PIN recovery will be fixed in the next version so if you don't mind waiting, you will be able to recover the PIN.

You might be able to remove Anti-Theft with root access, but I have no experience with that.

Good news! As promised, the new update solves the sms issue. I got the recovery pin and now all is working perfectly!
