What is "spawn.php"?
« on: March 04, 2005, 10:55:14 PM »
One of my friends sent me a link to a website which I thought would be fine, but the website flooded me with different websites, loads of browsers kept popping up. Eventually I blocked all traffic with my firewall and stopped it. In my history it came up with "spawn.php" I clicked this to see what it was and the same happened again.

Could someone tell what it was and how to stop it happening again? Plus can it be custom blocked via the "webshield"?

spawn.php is just a (as the extension tells) a webpage programmed in PHP.

To stop it, setup your security better.
A good popup killer (like the one in Opera) most likely would have prevented it.

ps: Do you still call him/her friend? ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for the reply so quick.

I already have Avast Home Edition (very please), Sygate personal, Ad-aware SE personal, Spybot and spyware blaster. Do you think I need another security program?
Plus my Operating system is Windows XP Pro with Firefox as the browser program.
