Win32:ZAccess-PB
« on: March 13, 2013, 01:18:50 AM »
I have this virus and Avast is constantly blocking it so I don't know if my personal information has been compromised or not but I need your help to get rid of it. I saw some instructions on how to deal with it manually but it didn't really help so I'll just post up the logs for you guys. I'm not sure of the exact location and file names of the infected files but I know one of them is '800000064' and the other used to be '800000032' but now that one no longer shows up as being blocked but instead a file with almost all zeros is shown as infected. They're all from the same folder and Avast will say 'Trojan Horse Blocked' every five minutes or so. The Malware scan found the folder where they're located and I clicked 'Delete' but to no avail. The files are in C:\Windows\Installer\{bf8c89f3-ece6-27cb-7244-993ec2b7c0e3}\U. Thank you so much.

Just to be sure, is it safe to turn Avast off? I hear this virus is pretty serious in that it opens backdoors and flows in a ton of dangerous stuff as well allows hackers to take total control of the personal information on my computer. Avast has been blocking it so far so I just want to be 100% sure that it's okay to turn it off. There's no way to run ComboFix with Avast still on?

Yes, you need to temporaly disable avast before you running Combofix.

ComboFix is multiplied & multitask tools and it works quite differently from other tools / software. Malware will be stopped by any action before it gets as target for removal.  ;)

Alright, I disabled Avast and ran ComboFix but when it started, it said Avast was still active and that it would run regardless. My computer is fine after it finished so don't think anything too bad happened but I'm sure I followed your steps on how to disable Avast before starting it. Also, the virus only pops up when I establish an Internet connection. I rehooked up the Internet and I haven't seen Avast tell me it's blocked the virus like usual (and yes I turned Avast back on before connecting to the Internet again after ComboFix was done) so hopefully that's a good sign. Here's the log.

    It is important that you have disabled AV. CF, sometimes can not correctly read that information (is AV on or off) and then pop-up warning.
    ------------------------------

    Multiple Antivirus Programs

    You are running more than 1 Antivirus program!

    AV: avast!
    AV:Anvi Smart Defender (Anvisoft)

    Running - more than one - antivirus program is not recommended because:[list=1]
    • They can conflict with each other.
    • Report the other antivirus software as malicious.
    • Antivirus programs use an enormous amount of computer's resources... actively scanning your computer.
    • Can cause your computer to become unstable...run slowly and even, in rare cases, BSOD crash...etc
    I strongly suggest you uninstall one of them.  Which one, is your decision.

    > Open notepad and copy/paste the text present inside the code box below:

    Code: [Select]

    KillAll::

    Folder::
    c:\windows\Installer\{bf8c89f3-ece6-27cb-7244-993ec2b7c0e3}
    c:\windows\Installer\{bf8c89f3-ece6-27cb-7244-993ec2b7c0e3}\L
    c:\windows\Installer\{bf8c89f3-ece6-27cb-7244-993ec2b7c0e3}\U
    c:\program files (x86)\AVG Secure Search

    ClearJavaCache::

    FileLook::
    c:\windows\system32\services.exe

    Save this as CFScript.txt

    > Again, temporaly disable avast! antivirus as you did before.

    Close all browser windows and refering to the picture above.

    Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
    ComboFix will will re-run. When finished, it will produce a log for you.
    Attach the contents of the log in your next reply. (typical location: C:\ComboFix.txt )

    It is necessary to uninstall ComboFix :
    • Click Start (or ) then Run.

      On Windows7 or Vista you may use Start Search field if Run is not available.

    • In the line of text type in (Copy) the following:
    Code: [Select]
    ComboFix /Uninstall
    Note that there is a space between " ComboFix " and " /Uninstall " .

    • then click OK (or press Enter ).
    Wait for the uninstall process is complete.

    ***************************

    Re-run OTL.exe.

    • Copy and paste the following text written inside of the quote box into the Custom Scans/Fixes box.

      Code: [Select]

      :Files
      c:\users\Mustafa\AppData\Roaming\Anvisoft
      c:\programdata\Anvisoft
      c:\program files (x86)\Anvisoft

      • Then click the Run Fix button at the top.
      • Let the program run unhindered; it will reboot the system when it is done and open notepad with logreport.

      > There is no need to attach that logreport.
    ***************************

    > Re-run OTL and click on CleanUp! button.

    You will be asked to reboot the machine to finish the cleanup process, choose Yes.
    After the reboot all the tools we used should be gone.
    Note: Some more recently created tools may not yet be removed by OTL. Feel free to manually delete any tools it leaves behind.

    **************************

    Download AppRemover (~ 6MB) on Desktop .
    Run it by double-clicking...

    Click Next, choose the second option (Clean Up a Failed Uninstall), confirm with Continue, go to Next, wait to be finished, choose any antivirus leftovers, scan and remove it by clicking on the Next .

    ***************************

    I recommended to keep Malwarebytes and to use MCShield if you will.
    You may download MCShield from one of the following links:

    MyCity -  Official download link
    Softpedija - Mirror download link

    It will prevent infection by computer via USB flash drive, mobile phone or any other memory card.
    And not only will prevent infection, but it will immediately clean flash drive, memory card or external HDD.
