AVAST Blocking Delphi creation of EXE
« on: April 16, 2013, 07:08:53 PM »
All of a sudden AVAST will not allow me to compile a new project in Delphi 7. The project compiles and links but as soon as the IDE tries to create the exe Avast pops up with message MALWARE BLOCKED. Win32:Malware-gen (see attachment). All old projects (with already created exe's) compile and run without problems - this only happens with new projects.

I have done a boot time scan as well as a full scan both of which shows up clean. I have also done a scan with Malwarebytes with also a clean result.

Maybe an AVAST setting causes this?

Could anyone perhaps help? Thanks.

As this is a general detection you might file a FP report from within the alert message.
Delphi is known to cause these FPs from time to time because  misinterpretations of generic scanning of packer protection,
