Hello. I was sent here by someone who is trying to help me with a problem I have had with my computer over the past few weeks. The way it started out was that when I would open Google Chrome, I would see a warning saying "Malware Blocked" and hear a pinging sound and "Threat has been detected". Later, it increased to two warnings at the same time, and then three warnings, and now it has gotten to upwards of 20 warnings saying "Malware Blocked" and "Trojan Horse Blocked" every time I open Google Chrome, and sometimes now even when I wake the computer up from sleeping. I have been told these warnings are the result of Avast blocking malware from "phoning home", and I am pretty concerned. I have little experience with problems like this, and I would really appreciate some help.
Info: I currently am using the free version of Avast antivirus as well as the full version of Malwarebytes. However, neither are able to find any infected files on the computer. The only thing I ever see is the massive spam of warnings every ~20 minutes from Avast, which is quite a nuisance aside from potentially being a serious problem for my computer.
Lastly:
The person who sent me here looking for a solution to this problem recommended that I speak to someone named "Essexboy", a nice guy who would apparently help me fix this issue with my PC. Where can I find him, and how should I go about fixing this issue with my computer? Thank you in advance for your help.
