No, there's the following ...

C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvastEmUpdate.exe
C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvastEmUpdate.ini
C:\Windows\Prefetch\AVASTEMUPDATE.EXE-BE6307C0.pf

but not the folder specified in Autoruns

I think it is a bug of avast... I'm back to restart the pc is run again (like this in normal home..) update in the Task Manager, but the patch already applied this and exclusions work... disable self-defense of avast, remove the executable from the folder empupdate and then with ccleaner it delete the entry into home...reboot and everything is ok..

Woh! - I just make it appear!

-- I opened the "Web shield settings" window on the "Exclusions" option
-- I ticked the "Processes to exclude" checkbox
-- I clicked on the "Actions" option to move away from that page
-- When I went back to the "Exclusions" option, the "Processes to exclude was working!

MORE INFO:
if I close all Avast windows & open them, if fails to appear again but the above sequence makes it work once more.
Seems to fail/re-appear consistently.

I can confirm that. Unfortunately, closing the Avast windows prevents it to appear again.

Just saw your post and tried your method.  It works for me also!!  However, when I close all avast! windows and then open them again to the Web Shield settings, the "Processes to Exclude" retains the correct set of buttons.  Don't know why mine is different from yours but . . . .
Windows 10 (64bit); 8GB RAM; Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro; avast Free (latest version)

I take it that you at least get to the setup folder ?
There are a whole slew of other folders and files in there including the emupdate folder.

The setup folder is there, but it doesn't contain a emupdate folder.

Just followed Alan's  sequence again. Well, I don't know what happened, but now it retains the correct set of buttons also after rebooting the system.

I wonder if a fix was downloaded via emupdate ?

Apparently the last emergency updates didn't address this problem  in my system - I rebooted several times  with no results.

Then I tried Alan's sequence once more and the problem disappeared.

Despite having solved the UI problem, I've just discovered the underlying issue I was originally trying to fix is still there...

I've entered java.exe, javaw.exe & Azureus.exe into the exceptions list but the Azureus (Vuze) bit torrent client still doesn't work unless I switch WebShield off completely.

Sorry, man.

Well, I've added an emule's .ini file to both the file system shield and to the global exclusions, but Avast keeps scanning it anyway. It's OT here, I just wanted to let you know.
