HDD Light
« on: March 11, 2014, 12:18:55 PM »
Hi,

The HDD light on my laptop flashes constantly and I can't even hear the HDD working. I know there is no virus or malware on the system as this has been happening for years and I have scanned the system using Avast Premier and Malwarebytes Pro countless times since this started happening and have even clean reinstalled Windows several times. Now, when I do a boot time scan using Avast it comes up with two files that cannot be scanned and in the scan log they both say 'Data Error: Cyclic Redundancy Check (23)'. This continued to happen even after a clean reinstall of Windows.

Does anyone know what might be happening here?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks, but when I try to fix the error like it says on the page from the link, command prompt says: "Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges. You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode."

When you open the command prompt are you right clicking it and choosing " open with administrator privileges "
