aswrvrt.sys won't boot
« on: April 09, 2014, 04:54:56 AM »
Hello, I am new to this Forum and was hoping someone can help me with a specific problem I am having.

I have a windows XP system with Avast installed on it that will not boot at all. I read this post http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=120531.0 and was able to boot with a Windows 7 disk and run FRST. Attached is the FRST.txt file. Can anyone please help me?

Cheers
David

Initially I will disable  both Avast and AVG

Download the attached Fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

Hmm

From the command prompt could you type the following command and press enter

Once it has completed try a reboot

Thanks for all your help,

it apears my old hard drive has given up the ghost. Plugged it into a computer and it was stuffed.
