Was this a dark red pop-up while you were surfing?

Have you updated your Avast virus definitions and run a scan yet?

What version and product of Avast do you have?

starte a topic in Viruses and worms forums section ..... that is where you report virus and false positive problems

explain your problem .... what do you do when this happens .......

follow instructions here   https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

a) I was not surfing, but was net banking.

b) Using the free version of Avast (updated)

c) The referred address can be visited (Not opening the page) from my computer (and the message popping says " Prevented Malware attack computer is safe", but from other computer says the referred URL does not exisit.

d) Please inform on

1) the difference between http:// and hxxp:// (perhaps this seems the reason for alarm) also
2) whether such website exists or not and
3) is the alarm genuine

Many Thanks in advance

hxxp is used for making a link non clickable ..... has nothing to do with any detection   ;)

http://www.avast.com/en-eu/index   this you can click
hxxp://wxw.avast.com/en-eu/index   this you can not

Given the domain name in the alert "hbtxdom.com" I would say this is a somewhat strange domain name for a bank and trying to do a whois on that domain name it comes up Cannot resolve hostname.

In fact on some whois sites it is listed as for sale never registered, weird - http://whois.domaintools.com/hbtxdom.com.

So did you copy the URL correctly from the alert ?
