avast group policy block
« on: November 14, 2014, 08:02:19 PM »
Hi there. I - like a few others it seems - have a pc infection (or symptom of past infection?) which is blocking me access to Avast Free Edition and has disabled it from running at all. If I try and run it a message pops up saying: 'This program is blocked by group policy. For more information contact your sysem administrator'. I cannot delete the software in control panel either,  a message pops up saying: 'You do not have sufficient access to uninstall Avast - contact your admin'.

I want to be sure this is disinfected properly so thought it best to approach you before I tinker and possibly make it worse!

PS. is it normal for FRST to throw up an error about itself when it scans?

Thanks very much for your time. My logs are attached! :)
Tony

Forth attempt to type this! Thanks so much for your help. Very much! :) The fix seemed to run successfully. Here - if I do eventually succeed -  here are the logs you asked for! Thanks again wholeheartedly! Tony

Any further problems ?  There was an error found in the last copy of FRST and that has now been fixed.  Could you download and run a new copy please
