avast in safe mode
« on: November 14, 2014, 08:06:32 AM »
I have Avast version 2014.9.0.2021
Running Windows 7 Ultimate
While working in Safe Mode with networking today today I noticed that Avast was turned off and would not allow me turn it on.
Trying to get as much information as I could I tried a scan and received the following message. Unable to scan no further endpoints from the end point mapper
When I finished in Safe Mode and logged on everything was OK and a scan could be carried out.
Any comments please ?

did you remove your previous used AV according to vendors instructions / removal tool

why do you need to run in safe mode?.....are you infected?

avast dont run in safemode, but you dont need it as you have boot scan.
boot scan is not meant to be used as a regular scanner but something you use when/if you have a problem removing a infection

Important:
Please be advised, that the Boot-time scan is an advanced and purposeful feature designed to be used only when there’s something bad going on the system, and usually takes some time before it finishes. That's why it cannot be scheduled to run every time the computer starts, but as needed only.
