Forgotten password

I set up password protection,and now i TOTALLY forgot the password.Would anyone please help me?

Only thing you can do is a clean installation of avast.

You have to uninstall using avast uninstall tool

www.avast.com > support > downloads > uninstall utility

Not true!

I actually had a discussion with Avast! when I found this "exploit".. It works for all current versions. Avast! responded with, yeah we know, and we won't fix it, it was made by design.

Boot into Safe Mode then go to the following directory..

C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\aswResp.dat

Delete that file and reboot, your password should be gone.

doesn't even exist on my computer... great idea, but no go.
