avast 2015 halted our home wifi router...
« on: November 19, 2014, 11:35:56 PM »
To-day I updated my wife's computer that is connected via a wifi router to our local network from the 2014 version to new avast free 2015.
I had to re-enable the Wifi router and a second custom re-install was succesful.
What could have caused the Wifi was turned off when I rebooted after the first initial install of the software?
Anyone?

Avast! affected the actual Router? Odd... Never heard of that.

Question, did you install the Home Wifi Protection onto the Wife's Computer that comes with it by default??

PS: No idea you were married lol

At around 0:30 (Avast! Network Security) that's what I'm talking about when I say Home WiFi Protection.

Yes it was the Network Security Component of free avast 2015 AV that blocked this by default after installation (Wifi off - plane status on). Had to manually set it to allow in the program and then also restart the Wifi Router manually. It is something every user of Wifi should do once in a while for security reasons anyway. The router was protected as should and latest  firmware update was applied.

Thought it might be Avast! Home Security :-). Gld to know it was solved. Now, for my issue hopefully :-)http://zulu.zscaler.com/submission/show/eec1f7753844762256a5586ebf2ee946-1416493306
