Issue has been resolved, thank you!
« on: March 10, 2015, 10:43:18 PM »
Hi everyone, sorry in advance for my computer illiteracy. I just got this tablet, it's a Cintiq Companion 2, an art tablet, if it matters. I only really use tumblr on it, but i have downloaded paint tool sai and fire alpaca. my idiot brother tried to torrent manga studio but i didnt like it so i uninstalled it. i think thats what infected me, but again i'm painfully ignorant when it comes to stuff like this.
Any time i load a new page, click a new link, or pretty much anything, i hear DING DING DING THREAT HAS BEEN DETECTED and a little pop up with a bug comes up in the bottom right corner. its come up 4 times since ive been typing this, and its worrying, and also annoying me. what do i do to make my tablet safe again?
also if instructions could be given to me like im a fourth grader id really appreciate it, as i have absolutely no clue what im doing. thanks guys!   ;)

Hi I would suggest you uninstall torrent as well

Re-install Chrome
Unless you did this yourself, malware has changed your Chrome version into the Development Build. Among other things this allows malware to install any extension it wants. We need to resolve this.
1. If you have bookmarks, let's save them by exporting them - Export Bookmarks
2. Then I need you to go Google Sync and sign into your account
3. Scroll down until you see the "Stop and Clear" button and click on the button. At the prompt click on "Ok"
4. Now we need to uninstall chrome. Note: When asked about user data or settings you must remove this also so please check the box.

THEN

CAUTION :  This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Yeah, my main concern was getting rid of any malware I may have had. The avast popups have gone away, so thats literally the extent of my knowledge haha.
