Why is the software updater asking me to update to a beta version of a program.7-Zip is weird with their versioning because either you install something that is by definition unstable (beta, alpha) or very outdated (4+ years). It looks as though there is no stable and recent release available.
The point is that I would like to rely on a
Software Updater that doesn't auto install beta software. This
could be solved by adding an option to the Software Updater customization settings: "Include beta versions", and it should be disabled by default. (

It is an ill-advised design decision to
slip-stream potentially unstable (beta) software onto user's computers. It is going to backfire on users, well on us, unless it gets defused in time.
