Virus found..then lost
« on: November 14, 2003, 12:00:04 AM »
I was running my newsgroup reader today when an Avast window popped up saying a virus was found, identifying it as "Win32:Swen" and giving the location which was a folder that stores files downloaded from the newsgroup. When I told Avast to delete it, a window popped up saying it couldn't be located. I tried to get Avast to "repair" and "move to chest" with the same result. I went to the folder and there was no file there matching the file named by Avast (Q122248.exe). Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Thanks,

Pgregory

Hi,

do you use avast home or pro ?
if pro, maybe it was set to autodelete/clean ?

try avast's cleaner:
http://www.avast.com/i_idt_171.html
and manuyll check for suspicous system entries/changes
Infos on swen everywhere in the board or on all AV-sites, e.g. avast'S homepage
