Misdetection or false positives?

Two files submitted to Jotti reveals...
Are they false positives or misdetection of avast!
As far I learned, files submitted to Jotti don't need to be uploaded to avast! as they will be sent be Jotti. Am I wrong?

As far as I'm aware part of the reason of being a part of the Jotti process is so that undetected samples are passed to those AVs that take part. That however, would need to be confirmed as fact by either Jotti or Alwil.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to send it as you don't know how frequently the samples would br sent by Jotti (if they are) to the AV companies.

Hi I e-mailed avast technical support and asked them your question regarding Jotti. They replied as follows:



Hello,

If sample is detected by at least one AV and not by avast!, sample
becomes available to us for download.
