avastui.exe - unable to locate component, aswsqlt.dll not found

hi,
when i try to run avast free antivirus on my winxp pc with zone alarm yesterday, i got "avastui.exe - unable to locate component, aswsqlt.dll not found" error message. i have had no problem before. but when i check, the aswsqlt.ddl is there in c:\program files\avast software\avast\aswsqlt.dll, 532kb, 4/10/14, 7:30pm. i did uninstalled & then re-installed it but still with same error message. please help !

Pls remove(uninstalled) zone alarm and reboot the system and do a clean install of Avast! and report back.

Not only remove ZoneAlarm through control panel, but also use the removal tool which can be found through : http://www.ache.nl

Hi,
many thanks for your advice, guys. i since discovered that aswsqlt.dll was corrupted & still in directory even after uninstalled. so i just manually deleted it. after reinstalled with new copy of aswsqlt.dll, avast is up & running.
