still having email problems

i am a new with avast i can see that it is scanning my email on the tool bar but nothing says that it has been scanned on the email any ideas?

What is your OS?
What is your email program?
Have you asked avast to insert a clean note into the email (POP3/SMTP tabs in Internet Mail)?

You could check if avast is scanning mail.
Pick a message go to Properties, and there you can see:
X-Antivirus: avast! (VPS 0552-0, 12/27/2005), Inbound message
X-Antivirus-Status: Clean

If you can see this, avast is scanning your mail.

That is just duplicating effort for those trying to help. Between the two threads I think we should have answered your questions.
