win32: volag-B [wrm]
« on: January 24, 2006, 03:48:16 PM »
I just did a scan at startup and was told I had a virus at the following places:

c-system volume Information\restore{B9823275-D858-948B-A4DC-C4EEDA322F67}RP1831A00356121.ocx is infected by win32: Volag-B [worm]  Repair: Error 42060 {the file was not repaired.}

and

c-\windows\system32\vaectrl-ocx is infected by win 32:volag-b [wrm] Repair: Error 42060 {The file was not repaired.}

So I didn't see that virus in you list and need to know how to get rid of it.  Could someone please help me!!!!!

Thanks!!

Deb

The system volume Information folder is a part of the windows system restore element and as such is protected by windows, so you can't repari or delete restore points in there.

The only option is to disable system restore, once you have disabled system restore, reboot, that should automatically delete the contents of the _Restore folders. Scan your PC again and if clear enable system restore.

How to disable System Restore
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD - 27" external monitor 1440p 2560x1440 resolution - avast! free  24.9.6130 (build 24.9.9452.762) UI 1.0.818/ Firefox, uBlock Origin Lite, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security
