Is my Avast Free Anti-virus infected?
« on: November 26, 2016, 07:08:32 PM »
Every once in a while maybe a few days later it repeat again, I get a prompt from COMODO Firewall Free that AvastSvc.exe is trying to execute SkypeSetupFull.exe from C:\WINDOWS\Temp\avast_ash2\Skype\SkypeSetupFull.exe run as user "SYSTEM" however I am using a limited account so I denied it.

My question is what is happening? Why is AvastSvc.exe trying to install Skype? Is my Avast infected with a virus?

Windows XP SP3 Pro 32-bit
Avast Antivirus Free Edition
Virus Definitions 161126-0
Program 12.3.2280 (build 12.3.3154.23)

Ah okay, thanks for the reply, it is because I have not touched Skype in forever reason is because the move from MSN Live Messenger to Skype that was forced messed up my custom groups I created in MSN Live Messenger and into Skype they just dumped it in one single group treated like a pile of crap, then suddenly this execute happened and it scared me, I will go to the skype website to update from there instead from AvastSvc.exe.
