How do I enable UDP ports in AVAST Home?
« on: March 19, 2006, 05:38:37 PM »
Can someone explain to me how to enable UDP ports using Avast Home Edition? I have looked through all the menus and even the help section, but no joy.

I am using a file sharing application, which requires a particular UDP port to be open for 'Decentralised tracking'  Any ideas???

Please advise. Thank you, in advance!   :(

If it helps...
System:
Win 2k.
2Gb mem.
Avast Home.
2Mb Broadband.

avast isn't a firewall it doesn't enable or block ports.

What is your P2P application, is it supported by avast ?
See the list in the P2P Shield
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.6.6121 (build 24.6.9241.848) UI 1.0.809/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Right now, not. It uses a different technology approach on the web traffic and avast can't scan it.
Maybe Azureus allow to add ashQuick.exe as an external scanner (when the file finishes its download).

There are many forum members using Azureus without problem, the only thing to watch out for is this 'Internet Connection Timeout' warning that isn't wjat it may seem.

Thank you for all your help.

(compared to mcafee, norton, inoculate, panda etc, which i have all tried, avast has been by far the best AV i have come across, beats all other hands down so far...)
