Like XP SP2, Avast 11.2.2262 is old. Whilst it may have current virus definition updates, but that isn't everything as new modules/functions aren't included.
Old programs can be vulnerable to exploit and AV programs are no different as the old program in itself doesn't get updated. So any vulnerability would remain as companies only update the current product/s and not historic versions.
