Scan failed message

Hello

I'm new to this forum, so forgive me if there is a post about this somewhere else that I couldn't find.

Last night my Avast wanted to update which it did.  Now everything it wants to scan it says "scan failed....something went wrong. Try it again ".

I've tried it several times but always get the same message. I've cleared my cache.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you rebooted the system since the update? if that doesn't help you could try the next step which is to do a repair and reboot.

Thanks for your suggestion. :)

I tried that but it didn't work. I removed Avast and tried reinstalling, and it now seems ok...fingers crossed!.
